Sometime in high school, I learned that some people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. And I think it is one of the most important things I’ve ever learned.

I graduated from high school about two years ago and there are some friendships I promised I wouldn’t let die. But over the days and months that have gone by, it has become hard to keep up with everyone, considering the fact that I am making new friends, I am in a different country and I am still discovering myself.

I have tried to keep in touch with most people but its been really unstable and I have come to understand that some people’s part in my life story is over. This does not mean, we are not friends, it just means that they cannot take or play an active part in my joys and pain and the rest of my life as I grow.

I have learned to let people go and I have learned to understand when people let me go. Think of your friends as angels, some of them come to help you through some difficult moment and when that moment is over, somehow you don’t talk as much as you used to, and that’s okay. They were in your life for a REASON.

Some others are around for a SEASON, to teach you the necessary virtues you need to learn for the future. They may be bad, they may be good but they teach you. And when the season is over, they leave. And again, it is really okay.

The LIFETIME friends are a combination of REASON and SEASON. They are meant to walk through life with you. You will realize that no matter how many times you grow apart, you still find your way back to each other. “The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.”

I am not saying you should give up on friendships that mean a lot to you, I’m saying that you should know when to let go. Yes, fight to keep your friends but know when their part in your life is over.

Everyone you ever meet is strategically put in your life by God for a REASON, SEASON or LIFETIME. And just like seasons people come and go. Guess what? It is okay.

Try to understand people. Understand that they have some much going on in their lives and they will not always keep in touch. Also be a good friend and check on the people you care about.

To the people I don’t really talk to anymore, I love you guys and I appreciate all I learned from you. If you ever need me, I will try to the best of my ability to be there. We are still friends just not as close and we always will be friends.

Three days ago she lost sight of her belief,
Something told her,
“It’s okay to immerse yourself in that wrong”
“just a little bit won’t hurt, just a little…”

And you know, That’s how it starts
from a little bit, To a little more, to a lot more
and soon she would be too far gone,
too far gone, she wouldn’t know her way back.

So I told her to stop and look around,
Forget the pleasures of the world,
They will hold you bound. Nothing is as perfect
as the sound of your beating heart.

Jesus loves you way too much,
For you to live your life this way.
